As demand for AI tools skyrocketed, I led design internally on an llm chat based AI slide deck creator for all employees across the firm. With the addition of the experience, I also introduced the now widely used split-screen and tool tag calling ('@') patterns.

Deck Builder in production today
Context
Problem
Across the bank, one of the most used methods of communicating ideas is via PowerPoint decks.
Creating and refining these decks takes our employees a lot of time and in cases of the highest revenue generating employees, even more so.
Goal
Create an ai experience that allows users across the bank at any level of experience with ai, to be able to intuitively create a valuable deck

Most recent design with a new UI in collaboration with Ila Park
Pain Points
Making presentations takes our employees a LONG time across the entire firm
The more impactful the presentation, the longer it takes to create and refine it
Constraints
With the pace of AI at the moment, we needed a quick win MVP, meaning we had to move fast
We had limited dev capacity, so we couldn't add too customization or complexity
Chat based generation
After research and exploration, my first design included generating and displaying the deck as a card component

Creating a new design pattern
Unsatisfied with the design, I looked into other solutions, realizing this side view AI pattern was the answer

Next Steps
Adding advanced editing, enhancement, and customization capabilities
While continuing to iterate on improvements within our LLM platform, the next stage of Deck Builder will start with finer detail editing both via chat and manual selection
As this is still an ongoing project, please understand I am limited on what I am able to share online
